A black comedy that's shocking and laugh out loud funny, Lava features misguided heroes, mad coincadence and all out carnage set against the party backdrop of the Notting Hill Carnival. During a blazing hot summer day in West London, two deluded heroes set out on an impossible mission. Smiggly (writer/director Joe Tucker) is one of life's also rans, while Phillip (James Holmes) is a well-meaning shelf stacker in a supermarket.
Together they plan to avenge the beating that has left Phillip's brother Stevie (Harry Iggulden) badly disabled and brain damaged. Encouraged by Stevie's dad (Tom Bell), they set out on a scheme that sees them encountering a dodgy gun dealer (Leslie Grantham), the local drug kingpin, and a bunch of Yardies... |
