Storyline:

"A Fine Romance" marks a special milestone in the career of legendary actress Judi Dench. Not only was it her television comedy debut but it was also one of the occasions when she co-starred with her now late husband Michael Williams. Crackling with real-life chemistry and delightfully witty writing, this British television classic about a rocky middle-aged romance reaches a different sort of milestone as it makes it DVD debut later this year in a set that includes the show's first nine episodes. Portraying a pair of battle-scarred veterans of the mating game, the brainy Laura (Dench) and shy Mike (Williams) are thrown together by Laura's matchmaking sister and brother-in-law. The couple take tentative steps toward romance with Laura's prickly independence and Mike's awkward bumblings making for hilarious trip-ups along the way.
