Based on the book DON'T KISS THEM GOODBYE by real-life psychic investigator Allison DuBois, NBC's popular television series MEDIUM blends crime-drama with the supernatural for a smart and chilling spin on the detective genre. Patricia Arquette (TRUE ROMANCE, STIGMATA) stars as a fictionalized version of DuBois, a family woman and aspiring lawyer who has been haunted all her life by strange visions and dreams. When she realizes she has the capacity to communicate with the dead, Allison puts her unique skills to work for a sympathetic district attorney (Miguel Sandoval) while depending on her husband (Jake Weber) and two daughters (Sofia Vassilieva and Maria Lark) for moral support. Dark, moody, and creatively original, the series' second season is presented in its entirety with this collection of episodes.
Episodes:
201 "When Push Comes to Shove, Part 2"
Months have gone by and Captain Push is alive but in a coma. It looks like his plan has failed unless Allison can shove her personal problems aside to finally get his message. She redreams the dream that Captain Push tried to send her and realized that the killer is the natural-born son of the sperm donor. He was raised by his mother to destroy his father's legacy - the children he fathered while being a sperm donor.
202 "The Song Remains the Same"
"I Will Survive" is psychically deafening Allison, guiding her to an MP3 player belonging to a missing college girl. When she investigates she comes up against the local priest who knows a lot more about the case than he is admitting. Her dreams aren't much better, warning her not to fly to a family wedding, but forcing her, with images of crashed planes, to drive there instead. Because they drive she locates the girl in the same location as her dream.
203 "Time Out of Mind"
Allison gets stuck in a dream loop, where she is a mental patient undergoing barbaric experimental treatment. When she investigates she finds that, in 1959, there was a patient called Beverley who claimed she was really Allison DuBois living in 2005. Allison has to work out why she is dreaming about Beverley and what it has to do with the schizophrenic murderer she and the DA are prosecuting. She finds that Beverly faked killing her daughter to save her from her father but now her daughter needs Allison's help.
204 "Light Sleeper"
Allison is sleepwalking, her dreams are forcing her to go and find money. Her sleepwalking is not only frightening her family, but it is also getting in the way of an investigation into the disappearance of a businessman and his young son. She discovers that the father was being blackmailed and died in a car crash while driving to hand over the ransom money.
205 "Sweet Dreams"
Allison dreams a flashback to her high school years, when the ghost of an old man warned her not to let her best friend leave to follow her dreams of being a model. She has problems connecting it to the kidnapping of the 'difficult' daughter of one of Devalos' friends, a pornographic video and 4 litres of blood in a car, until a news report catches her eye. She finds that her best friend is still alive and faked her death in a 1989 earthquake. She had paid $100,000 to get the papers to obtain a new identity. The man who gave her the papers also helps people fake their deaths by having them collect their blood over a period of time until they have four pints. When the blood is planted at a crime scene an ME will declare them dead due to the amount of blood loss. The current missing person does this in order to get away from her abusive father.
206 "Dead Aim"
A recurring dream of the DA's office staff being slaughtered makes Allison very jumpy at work, which doesn't help when Watt brings in a rival psychic to help defend his client. Meanwhile, for Joe, taking Bridget to work with him turns out to be not all fun and crayons.
207 "Judge, Jury & Executioner"
Joe gets called to jury duty, but Allison cannot share her dreams with Joe. Devalos tells her to stay away from the case. The man is found not guilty even though Allison dreams how he killed his wife. She leads the police to the body of the wife. After the discovery of his daughter's body parts, the father hunts his son-in-law down and shoots him 23 times.
208 "Too Close To Call"
A flame from Joe's past emerges, Allison gets mixed up and has dreams from Joe's past. The DA is running for re-election. Allison dreams that a murder will ruin his chances.
