|
Ziegfeld Follies (1946): The late, great impresario Florenz Ziegfeld looks down from heaven and ordains a new revue in his grand old style.
Till the Clouds Roll By (1946): Light bio-pic of American Broadway pioneer Jerome Kern, featuring renditions of the famous songs from his musical plays by contemporary stage artists, including a condensed production of his most famous: 'Showboat' .
Three Little Words (1950): Song-and-dance man Bert Kalmar can't continue his stage career after an injury for while, so he has to earn his money as a lyricst. Per chance he meets composer Harry Ruby and their first song is a hit. Ruby gets Kalmar to marry is former partner Jessie Brown, and Kalmar and Jessie prevent Ruby from getting married to the wrong girls. But due to the fact, that Ruby has caused a backer's withdrawal for a Kalmar play, they end their relation.
Summer Stock (1950): As a favor to her actress sister Abigail, New England farmer Jane Falbury allows a group of actors use her barn as a theater for their play. In return, the cast and crew have to help her with the farm chores. During rehearsals, Jane finds herself falling for the show's director, Joe Ross, who also happens to be engaged to the show's leading lady, Abigail.
It's Always Fair Weather (1955) : Ted (Gene Kelly), Doug (Dan Dailey), and Angie (Michael Kidd), are three ex-G.I.s who vow to meet again at a New York bar on October 11, 1955. They all show up on the appointed day, but quickly find that their friendship isn't what it used to be. However, a program coordinator (Cyd Charisse) wants to bring the three men together again on a live TV show. Circumstances are further complicated by a group of gangsters who are after Ted. |
